An inspection and test plan is agreed before fabrication. It defines who inspects what, against which criteria, and where the client or third party wants to witness or hold the work.
Typical ITP content
- Material receiving and certificate review.
- Weld visual inspection and NDT scope.
- Dimensional checks and trial assembly.
- Coating inspection (surface profile, thickness, adhesion where specified).
- Final documentation review before release.
