Corrosion protection
Which coating system should I choose?
It depends on the corrosivity category of the site, the required durability and the maintenance plan. Hot-dip galvanizing, paint systems and duplex systems are common options.
Engineering
Which design codes can you work to?
The applicable codes depend on the project location and the owner. The standards library on this website lists common codes. Editions and the codes used for a specific project are confirmed during technical review.
Why is vibration important for footbridges?
Light footbridges can respond to walking and running. Design codes and guidance define comfort criteria, which the engineer of record checks during design.
Fabrication
Can the bridge be delivered in segments?
Yes. Segment sizes are chosen to suit transport limits and site lifting equipment, and splices are detailed for site assembly.
Do you perform trial assembly?
Trial assembly is carried out when the specification requires it or when agreed for complex geometry. It is listed in the quotation when included.
General
What information do you need to prepare a quotation?
Drawings or a description of the bridge (span, width, structural type), the location, applicable codes, coating requirements, delivery terms and the schedule. The quote form lists all fields; missing information can be added later.
Do you design the bridge?
The engineer of record is responsible for the structural design. Depending on the contract, World Steel can prepare shop drawings and, where agreed, connection design. The scope is defined in each quotation.
Logistics
Do you install the bridge?
Installation is normally carried out by a local contractor. We provide information to support installation planning, such as weights, lifting points and assembly sequence. Any installation support is defined in the quotation.

A secure area where you can follow your quote requests, download quotations and documents shared with you, and send messages to our team.
Quality
Which quality documents are delivered?
Typically material certificates, welding records, NDT reports, dimensional and coating reports, as defined in the inspection and test plan agreed for the project.
Which certifications does World Steel hold?
Only certifications that have been verified are listed in the Quality assurance section. If you need a specific certification, please ask us before requesting a quotation.
Quotes & orders
How long is a quotation valid?
The validity period is stated on each quotation. Prices depend on steel market conditions, so they may need updating after the validity date.
